Formula ThirtyFive 27,5

Hello

Sorry I don't speak German, but I hope you guys can help me .

I have a few problems with my 35. Bought it in July 2024 (RCZ new). Around 60 hours use. I have serviced it with Supergliss 68k, SRAM butter 4 times. Always wipe stanchions clean. Bike always upside down for a few minutes before I start riding.

1) Stanchions are clearly starting to show wear, I noticed a lot of barely visible scratches. Wipers seem to be tight compared to my rockshox forks. Bushings are good - a little play, but definitely not tight. I have cleaned and serviced it so many times that there should be no wear.
Bad patch of wiper or bad coating on stanchions? Are the new wiper better?

2) CTS is rattling. I removed CTS and it stopped the noise. I can make both of my CTS valves click by pulling them with my hand. It was noisy from the start, but it seems to get worse. Is it normal, how to fix? . video

I like the fork a lot, but it seems to have strange problems. Would be sad to scrap it after next seasons.

Hello robertybner,
I also had a 35 fork and after some years the black coating had some waer. I think this can happen but is not a problem for function.
The nois of the fork in the video comes from te negative steel springs in my opinion. I still have a 35 in use and have a similar sound. In my opinion nothing to be worried about.

So I have tried blue and orange CTS. More damping makes more sound. I did re-bleed the cartridge - sounds the same. While bleeding there is no sound or loose feeling, as soon as you attach CTS, it starts rattling and you can feel it

To me it sounds more like the noise is boosted by the casting, did you try with damper removed? Is the spacer on the spring side correctly installed?

I did try it without CTS. I just left my bleeding syringe threaded in and It did not make any sound.
Yes the sound is boosted by the casting.
Has a weird free spot moving from compression to rebound, because something moves inside CTS, was worse before bleeding.

Good news is that after cartridge bleeding, it makes a lot less sound when riding, it was very noisy before. I will give it a few more rides before calling it fixed.

Also waiting for an answer from formula, after first contact, I got a feeling they think it is normal.

Seems that rattle ist from the shims in the cartridge🤔
Maybe anything loosen or broken?
I have three Formula 35 , no rattle in one of Thema like this in your video ...

(Just have Problems with Play on the bushings, after two years in one Fork.)

Answer from Formula.

Our engineer told me that it's probably not coming from the CTS play that we see in the video.
It's hard to say without having the fork in our hands.

The best way will be to contact one of our distributor Service and they will need to check the fork.

The Nearest will be Scandinavian Suspension Center :[email protected]
Please contact him directly.

Well I'm not going to send it anywhere.

Been riding, around 10 hours since bleeding.
It still clicks when I bounce it in my garage, but when I'm riding, I can't hear any loud noise.

So bleeding must have fixed my problem. Probably was air trapped somewhere.

I also read most of the posts in Selva/35 forums, and I found a few other people who were complaining about strange loud sound that went away after bleeding

Tuning tip - Flip the blue CTS around. You get a nice linear compression. You get something between orange and blue/red.
