Die FMB-Zeit in Nordamerika beginnt: Vor den Highlights in Whistler beim Joyride und der Rampage in Utah geht es für die Top-Athleten unter anderem zunächst nach Winter Park/Colorado, wo im Rahmen des Colorado Freeride Festivals der Slopestyle mit FMB Gold-Status ausgetragen wird. Munich, July 23rd, 2013 – For the first time this year, the FMB World Tour crosses the Atlantic for an official Gold event. Colorado Freeride Festival at Winter Park Resort will kick off the North American leg of the tour. With two 2012 podium riders not able to attend, will last year’s runner-up Martin Soderstrom come out on top, or will another contender snatch the victory? Europe has already hosted a Diamond event, three Gold events and numerous Silver and Bronze events this season – now, with solid overall ranking points already on the board, the battle for the 2013 title moves to North America. Long-term FMB World Tour rider, Kelly McGarry has helped design the Trestle Bike Park course for this major event. Kelly has created a sweet line, integrating all your traditional slopestyle features, including flat drops, dishes, logs and of course big booters. So the athletes will have the perfect conditions to drop their best tricks and put together amazing runs to impress the judges and amaze onsite and online spectators. In 2012 the podium at Colorado Freeride Festival was of the highest calibre. Brandon Semenuk took first, with Martin Soderstrom and Brett Rheeder in second and third. Although this year, current FMB World Tour champion Brandon Semenuk will not be competing and unfortunately Brett Rheeder is recovering from an injury sustained at Crankworx Les 2 Alpes. This means the podium and big ranking points really are up for grabs – the question however, is who will make it to the top? Here are to confirmed athletes so far.
