DOMAIN suspension fork (steel steerer version) RECALL

Dear customer,

We regret to inform you that we have experienced failures with a very small quantity of model year 2008 and 2009 DOMAIN suspension forks with steel steerers. THE FAILURE DOES PRESENT A SAFETY ISSUE. For this reason we are putting in place an official RECALL and replacement process for Domain Forks (steel steerers

version only).

The specific models affected and respective date codes are as follows:

Fork Models:

• All Domain 302 and 318 (Coil and Coil U-Turn) fork models with STEEL steerer tube, 1 1/8”.

o Note: Steerer tube material is visible under center of fork crown. Use a magnet on inside of steerer tube to identify steel material.

Date Code Range:

• 09T8XXXXXXX – 42T8XXXXXXX

It is imperative that you forward this communication to the retailers that either; received bikes with this fork or

received a fork for aftermarket sale; all of the potentially affected forks need to be retrieved from the field.

Process for retrieval / replacement:

Products at retailer level – Our aftermarket distributors are aware of the situation, direct replacements can be

arranged via them, please note that replacements will only be issued once the effected product has been returned.

Products at consumer level – adverts will be places in key publications across Europe to inform consumers to

contact their local retailer for a replacement via our distribution and service channels.

We apologize for this quality issue and regret the disruption this causes to your business. We look forward to

resolving it as quickly, safely and economically for you as practical. If you have any further questions – please

contact your SRAM sales representative.
